Practical Electrical Engineering was a 40-lesson course from Geirge Newnes. Following the course, Practical Electrical Engineer began in 1932 and covered all things electrical and electronic n response to the success of the  engineering course.

"With the approach of the final issue of PRACTICAL ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING, a large number of readers have written to the Editor asking that the Work should be continued in some form or another.
In view of the exceptional interest which has been shown, he now has pleasure in announcing that the Publishers have decided to continue the Work in the form of a monthly Magazine, the first Number of which will be issued in August under the title of The PRACTICAL ELECTRICAL ENGINEER"
