Radio
Digest began as a weekly
tabloid format newspaper
with program information and
industry news. Starting in
May,1926 it was converted to a
standard magazine format, and issued
twice a month and from
Summer of 1928 to mid1929,
it was a quarterly. In
Fall 1929
became a monthly, with less
industry news and more for
the radio listener and
fan.. With the September, 1930
issue Radio Digest absorbed
Radio Revue and
Radio
Broadcast
magazines. The last known
issue was dated March, 1933,

Missing Issues |
..We are avidly searching for more of
the 1922-1927 tabloid issues as they
document industry developments
better than any other publication of
the era. |
Another Publication |
There was a magazine of the same
name published in the late 1930's
until its final issue in 1939.
|
And Yet
Another Publication |
Even as the "Real" Radio
Digest launched, there was
another publication issued
in Chicago. We have one copy
and this is it. |
|
Note: the cover is certainly
an
insensitive stereotype and distasteful
by today's standards, but is
left intact in the interest
of historical accuracy. |
