RCA Victor's "In The Groove" was in circulation beginning in March of 1946 and it ran into 1949.
In The Groove apparently replaced the RCA Record Radio News, which began around 1939 to promote RCA records, artists and record players
In The Groove operated under editor Frank O'Connell until 1948 then Charles Schafhauser, a former script writer at WPEN in Philadelphia. In the Groove was a small 12-page, 9' x 6' magazine featuring RCA's artist promotions. It also contained RCA radio set and record player news.
In Early 1949 the title was combined with "Record Review" for a single magazine. |
