Amateur
Radio Magazine from the American Radio Relay League - Early
Issues
"QST", in amateur radio shorthand, means "Calling
all Stations"
It's also the name of the magazine of the American
Radio Relay League, the dominant and influential
association of hams in the US.
The magazine was first published in December
1915.Publication of QST was temporarily
suspended after the September 1917 issue. In April
1917, the United States government, following its
entrance into World War I, banned all amateur radio
activities, and a large percentage of the magazine's
subscribers had entered military service. The
ban on amateur radio was lifted after the
conclusion of the war. QST returned in May
1919
Only Earliest Issues Posted
Because of the immense historical value in their
contents and the valuable contributions made to
electronics and radio technology by hams, we have
posted a selection of only the earliest QST
magazines up to 1969.
The content in these journals reaches well beyond
the specific scope of amateur radio operations and
is an important part of the broader history of early
radio.
Please do not ask us to present any "newer" issues
as the ARRL site can provide access to those.
