Service Magazine
was focused on the radio service
professional. It began in August of 1931.
The magazine also included content about
public address, phonographs and even early
facsimile services. The content featured
servicing techniques, discussions of general
subjects like static and interference as
well as product specific maintenance notes.
"Service" Magazine bought by "Electronic
Technician in 1959
(From the
February Electronic Technician)
All former Service subscribers started
to receive Electronic Technician in January,
1959 after a two month gap to give us time
to cross-check, and will continue to do so
for a period equal to the dollar value of
the unexpired portions of their
subscriptions. ET's cost is twice as great
as Service's because it is twice as large,
so one issue of ET will be served for every
two of Service still due. For example, from
Oct. 1958 to your Jan. 1961 Service
expiration covers 27 issues; divide this by
2, giving yourself the benefit of fractions,
and you have 14 issues of ET still to come
starting Jan. 1959. Your new ET expiration
date is Feb.1960. Subscribers to both
magazines are having their ET subscriptions
extended on the same basis. To be sure of a
continuous flow of all issues from here on
out, be sure to fill in the renewal notice
you receive from our circulation dept.-
