Radio retail and
service magazine from 1925 into the 80's with
various titles
Radio Retailing (Technician,
Electronic Technician)
was a monthly magazine for radio sales and
service retailers published by McGraw-Hill
from January, 1925 until 1980.The
magazine included
features on new products as well as articles
about selling them at retail. It also had
material for servicing radios and related
home electrical devices. Of course, the ads
from set manufacturers and parts suppliers
are a big part of the publication. There is
also some content about radio, FM and TV
stations that was relevant to the retailer.
Radio Retailing's predecessor was Electrical
Retailing from February, 1922 to
December, 1924.
In April, 1939 the name became Radio &
Television Retailing In December, 1942 'Radio Retailing' merged
with 'Radio
Today' (Briefly "Radio & Television
Today") to become' Radio Retailing
Today' in August, 1942, and then,
in April 1944 Radio Television
Retailing. By July 1952, it became Television
Retailing. It quickly became
Technician in August,1953
and in November, 1956 it became
Electronic Technician- A
mergerwith
"Service" occurred
in 1960. The
magazine ended its run under the name of Electronic Technician / Dealer,
continuing to 1980.
